Fishing Report for 8-14-12

The last two days have been total opposites of each other. Yesterday we fished on the Chippewa Flowage and caught nice numbers of good fish, boating 10 walleyes( three keepers), a dozen smallmouth bass up to around 14″, a couple dozen crappies and a few good ‘gills. My guests kept enough for a fish fry back at the cabin and released everything else. Lot’s of fish.
Today I guided on a lake near Spooner and we struggled to get good bites, a 4 lb largemouth bass was the big fish for the morning, but over all it was tough.
Water temps are in the mid 70’s now, with cooler weather coming in Thursday.
Good luck and good fishing,
Jim Stroede
