Fishing Report for 5-24-13

The past couple days I’ve been crappie fishing on the Chippewa Flowage. We’ve been catching lots of crappies in the pre-spawn mode in 6 or 7 feet of water. Interestingly the crappies have preferred feather jigs and tubes over live minnows. I’ve never done better on crappies with artificials over live until now. I’m hoping the fishing stays good for another week or so. It’s easy to start keeping to many fish when they’re bitting this good. But remember, for the good of the fishery only take some and let the rest go.
Good luck and good fishing,
Jim Stroede
